21 John White, an English Barrister admitted of Grays Inn, but appar- ently called by the Inner Temple, 1735, who came to Upper Canada in 1792 as the first Attorney-General.

(His diary is extant, but as yet unpublished).

Through the influence of Lieutenant-Governor Simcoe, he became a member of the House of Assembly for the first Parliament; and he took an active part in legislation.

His health was not very good and Ee seems to have been of a quarrelsome disposition.
