He survived until 1869, never it is said ceasing to deplore the unhappy fate of his boyhoods friend Lyon, 80 or his own part in it. 80 Lyon was of the prominent and well-known family of that name in Eastern Ontario. George Bryon Lyon Fellowes (a nephew) and the Judge Lyon of Ottawa, were relatives. Robert Lyon was a cousin of the wife of his master, Mr Thomas Maybee Radenhurst (called and admitted April 21st, 1824), and lies buried in the Radenhurst plot in the old Anglican burying ground, at Perth, Ontario. A headstone placed there by his friends commemor- ates his fall " in mortal combat. prev     next
