A part remained at Fort George. Taylor is not mentioned in any of the operations in 1812, except that it is said that he was not at Detroit on the surrender of Hull. 13 From a number of small cir- cumstances, none conclusive and indeed not conclusive in their totality, it seems probable that Taylor was with the Fort George detachment and remained at that post.
