As the question excited much anxiety, as well in the landed as in the commercial interest, a number of the most respectable, persons in the town and its vicinity attended to hear the judgment of the court, and Mr Justice Thorpe, on delivering his sentiments entered into the consideration of Soccage Tenures, and the exposition of the statutes in a manner which afforded the highest gratification to every admirer of the English language and law.
